The items of a certain series may look similar, but they can differ in many different ways. These similarities and variations can be seen by readers through literary analysis. J.K. Rowling has created a Harry Potter universe that is filled with many similarities. In the following, we will analyze Harry Potter’s Sorcerer’s Stone compared to Harry Potter’s Deathly Hallows. The similarities will be described, such as the roles of hero and antagonist, the importance of friendship, and ultimately the triumph of goodness over evil.

Harry Potter is a very well-known literary name. The wizarding books have sold more than 450,000 copies since 1997. Currently, the books can be found in over two hundred countries and seventy-three languages. J.K. Rowling’s fantasies follow Harry Potter as he learns about magic. Ron and Hermione are also featured in the series. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone had a difficult time getting published. Rowling put in a lot of effort to get the book published first. The United States followed one year later and changed the title from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The novel was a huge success as soon as it was released. Harry, a wizard, is introduced in the story. He learns about magic for his first time. His journey takes him to a wizardry school, where he has many adventures. The series received a lot more criticism with the passage of time, especially because of its dark tone. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was the seventh book by Rowling that completed the Harry Potter Series in 2007. Harry Potter, in his final school year, tries to finally defeat Voldemort. Harry and friends leave on a journey that will eventually lead them back home to Hogwarts. Harry Potter has been loved by readers worldwide for the past ten-years since the first Harry Potter novel was published. Harry Potter was the subject of a seven-book series that followed Harry’s life, starting with his birth. These two novels were linked by many similarities, including the role of the villain and hero, the power and importance of friendship, and finally the victory of good against evil.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows are both very similar when it comes to the roles of the protagonist and antagonist. In every good story, there is a protagonist or antagonist. Harry Potter’s first novel introduces him as a child. The chapter title “The Boy who Lived” foreshadows a special introduction. Voldemort appears in this very first book, as he attempts to murder many innocents, including Harry the infant. Voldemort has the greatest dark wizard power. People are so afraid of him that they won’t even say his name. In spite of this, Voldemort is unable to murder Harry. Voldemort’s curse of death, intended for Harry, reverted to him. Voldemort fled and hid, many believed that he had died. Rowling uses these first-chapter events to make Harry a hero in the wizarding community. Harry is now the victim of a villain. Harry is on his way to becoming a classic hero. Voldemort, the antagonist, is the obvious protagonist. Harry shows his heroism as he fights bullies at school and does the right thing. Dumblordore states in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone that “it takes great courage to face our enemies but it also takes great courage to face our friends.” Harry being orphaned is a sign that Harry will be a strong protagonist. Protagonists are expected to mature over the course of a story. Harry’s initial, devastating wound was what ultimately motivated him to defeat Voldemort.

Harry Potter, the wizard and person who has written the Harry Potter books, has evolved a great deal by the end of the Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows book. Harry has now overcome many obstacles to be ready to face Voldemort. Harry’s personality is well-defined in the seventh Harry Potter novel. Harry is brave, loyal, smart and very intelligent. Harry represents all the positive qualities in society. This is why readers root for him to win. Voldemort returns and is now more terrifying than before. He wants to dominate the wizarding world and kill Harry. Voldemort’s dark, sinister and power-hungry character is well presented. A lot of people are attracted to him because he’s so manipulative. All of these traits are typical of villains. The first Harry Potter novel and the seventh Harry Potter book both contain Voldemort as the villain.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone are both Harry Potter novels. They share a similarity with the strength of friendship. Harry first meets Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series’ first novel. Hermione is also introduced. Harry and Ron are friends from the start, and Ron helps Harry learn more about the wizarding world. Hermione becomes the victim of a giant troll that gets loose in school. Harry and Ron are there to help, and together they defeat the monster. Together, the three kids are stronger than any one of them alone. Later in the story, the three kids go on a search for the sorcerer’s Stone. Together, they are able to overcome many dangerous and terrifying obstacles. Hermione, Ron, and Harry combine their brains, knowledge, and bravery to form the powerhouse trio. They show that friendship is powerful and can achieve anything.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and their friendship had grown incredibly by the 7th novel. They are the best of friends, and they would even die for eachother. They set out to protect one another and find the horcruxes to help them fight Voldemort. Along the way, the trio is tested and often the odds do not favor them. However, their love and loyalties to each other are what make them so powerful. A message is delivered throughout the story that love and friendship can overcome anything. Dumblordore tells Harry in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: “Don’t pity the Dead, Harry.” Pity the dead, and those who have no love. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the characters work together in the final battle and save each other along the way. Harry, in particular, fought selflessly for the greater good. Harry’s best friend said, “Harry was a good man. His heart pumped for us!” “For us all!” (Rowling 2007,) The trio was so strong because of each other. They had something they were fighting for.

The triumph of good against evil is another similarity between the seven novels and the first novel. Literature is replete with themes that deal with the conflict between good and bad. Harry Potter and Voldemort are the two main characters in the Harry potter series. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’s first chapter shows how good overcomes evil. Harry survived the death curse. It shows how love, good and justice can conquer evil. Harry, his friends, and Voldemort find the Sorcerer’s Stone before Voldemort later in the novel. This defeats him, preventing him from having eternal life. Harry and friends’ winning of the House Cup is a victory for the good guys. Harry and the others were rewarded despite the chaos and rules that they broke.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the epic battle in which good once again triumphs over evil. Harry and friends make slow but steady progress throughout the novel, but Harry’s final battle with the bad wizards will be intense and deadly. The result is that many good people are killed, and it sometimes seems like there’s no hope. Rowling makes us believe that Harry will die at some point. Harry’s love, his friendship, and the classic hero he represents make him stronger. Harry surprises readers by revealing he actually is alive. Voldemort’s battle with Harry begins then. Harry eventually defeats Voldemort. Good defeats evil. Rowling writes in Rowling’s (2007) book that the good has finally triumphed over the evil.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows have many similarities. Harry is introduced and the future battle with evil is foreshadowed in the first book. In the seventh, Harry achieves a triumphant end. Harry Potter is a hero with many qualities, while Voldemort has the traits of an evil antagonist. Harry Potter’s success is due to the themes of love and friendship that are present in both novels. The novels also show that good triumphs over evil. Because the conflict is part of our human nature, it’s relatable. Readers enjoy seeing good triumph over evil, especially if the protagonist has a good mix of qualities. Harry is popular because of each of these points, which are present in both the book one and the last.
